The Master of Public Health program is designed to equip students with a broad range of skills, knowledge, and attitudes derived from various disciplines which will enable them to critically assess and deal effectively with the broad spectrum of public health problems and issues at the local, national, and international levels. The program is also designed to provide knowledge and develop skills in specific areas within public health relevant to the student’s career goals.

Graduates of the Master of Public Health program are expected to:

1. evaluate the health status of populations and public health interventions using appropriate techniques and tools in various settings;
2. implement appropriate public health interventions to achieve health equity and to address priority health issues in various settings;
3. manage health care organizations, programs and services in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural settings;
4. apply research skills and evidence-based solutions in addressing public health issues;
5. exhibit leadership and practice good governance in public health;
6. demonstrate commitment in the promotion of national heritage and cultural competence in the practice of public health;
7. engage in lifelong learning for relevant public health practice; and
8. exhibit legal, professional, social and ethical standards of behavior in public health.

1. Must fulfill the general admission requirements of the National Graduate Office for the Health Sciences
2. Graduate of a baccalaureate degree from any recognized institution of higher learning
3. At least one (1) year of work experience in a related field or its equivalent as decided upon by the MPH Committee
4. Approval of the applicant’s qualification for graduate work in public health by the MPH Committee
