Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

The Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) program is designed to equip graduates with better appreciation of their role as physical therapists. Graduates are envisioned to possess entry-level competencies enabling them to provide high quality PT care in different practice settings and responsibly assume different PT roles.

Graduates will be imbued with expected professional behaviors, capacity for critical thinking and self-directed learning, leadership, and sense of patriotism and social responsibility.

Program Learning Outcomes

The BSPT program aims to develop graduates who:

  1. possess entry-level competence as physical therapy practitioners in different practice settings;
  2. demonstrate basic skills in strategic planning and management of a PT practice;
  3. demonstrate effective skills and attitudes in research implementation and utilization;
  4. demonstrate the following traits/attitudes/core values— effective communication, professional behaviors, ethical decision making, capacity for lifelong learning, and intercultural competence; and
  5. demonstrate social responsibility, service-orientation, patriotism, leadership, and advocacy for one’s profession.

Admission Requirements

Admission into the BS Physical Therapy program adheres to the requirements set by the University of the Philippines.

Graduation Requirements

Graduation requirements of the BS Physical Therapy program adheres to the academic rules/policies of the University of the Philippines. Students must have completed: (1) all coursework or requirements of the curriculum; (2) at least one year of residence work immediately prior to graduation; and (3) application for graduation.
