Master of Science in Public Health (Environmental Health)

The Master of Science in Public Health (Environmental Health) aims to provide instruction in the environmental health sciences and in the study, evaluation, and control of environmental health problems. These are research opportunities for those who wish to work in the broad field of environmental health. Through specific research, the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health contributes to knowledge, thereby enhancing the understanding of the environmental hazards affecting human health.

A graduate from the program should be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to:

1. recognize the different environmental hazards and their environmental and health effects;
2. apply principles and methods of controlling environmental hazards and their health effects;
3. plan and conduct environmental and health impact of development projects; and
4. formulate an environmental health program.

1. Good scholastic record from any recognized institution of higher learning
2. At least 1-year of work experience in the related field
3. Duly accomplished Application Form (downloadable through the NGOHS website: ngohs.upm.edu.ph)
4. Compliance with the general requirements found on the 2nd page of the Application Form (UPM-NGS-OP-01F1)

1. Residency of at least 1 full academic year immediately prior to the granting of the degree.
2. Completion of a minimum of 34 units of formal courses (11 units of core courses, 13 units of major courses, 10 units of electives)
3. GWA of 2.00 or better in the major courses and an overall weighted average of 2.00 or better provided there is no grade of 5.00 in any of the courses
4. Residency of at least 1 full academic year immediately prior to the granting of the degree
