Master in Clinical Audiology

The Master in Clinical Audiology (MClinAud) is a two-year health science program that integrates theoretical knowledge and clinical applications in the prevention and management of hearing impairments. The program covers the areas of audiologic evaluation, audiologic habilitation, hearing conservation, and the development of audiology service delivery programs primarily in the Philippines.

Program Learning Outcomes

The MClinAud program aims to develop graduates who:

  1. perform audiologic procedures exhibiting advanced competencies;
  2. exhibit clinical reasoning in the assessment and management of audiologic conditions;
  3. communicate effectively in the practice of audiology;
  4. engage actively in interprofessional practice;
  5. adhere to professional and ethical standards;
  6. promote the development of audiology in the Philippines; and
  7. engage in lifelong personal and professional development.

Admission Requirements

  1. Good scholastic record from any recognized institution of higher learning
  2. Bachelor of Science degree (Health science graduates with a background in anatomy, physiology, and basic clinical skills will be given priority for the initial offering.)
  3. Undergo an entrance interview
  4. Duly accomplished Application Form NGOHS (downloadable through the website: ngohs.upm.edu.ph)
  5. Comply with the General requirements found on the 2nd page of Application Form (UPM-NGS-OP-01F1)

Graduation Requirements

  1. Complete a total of 300 client contact hours. Client contact may be obtained in CAUD 211, CAUD 212, CAUD 280, CAUD 234, CAUD 203, and SP 232.1.
  2. Additional clinical exposure may be arranged as needed to complete the 300 hours.
  3. Completion of 30 units (28 units of major courses, 2 units of electives, and cognates)
  4. A GWA of 2.00 or better in major and in all courses taken
  5. Passing a comprehensive examination
