Mandated to provide supplemental support to existing learning assistance programs for students, the UP Manila Learning Center (LRC) has continued to extend student support services since 1997.
The Summer Bridge Program (SBP), the major initiative of the center aimed at addressing the gap between the freshman students’ skills acquired in senior high school and the entrance skill requirements at UP Manila, has benefitted 872 freshmen from 2023 to 2025.
In the same period, the LRC has served 1,612 students through its Tutorial Program and 1,612 students through its Simulated Examination Program. The LRC has also offered Skills Enrichment Programs, including writing workshops on curricula vitae and internship letters, Japanese language lessons for beginners, and training on the use of citation managers.
Beyond its mandate to offer instructional assistance and enrichment programs, the LRC has made its rooms available for student use during examination periods. Students are allowed to use its facilities as they prepare for their examinations, availing themselves of safe spaces conducive for studying.
The LRC remains steadfast in serving the students of UP Manila.
