The Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program (SFAP) provides scholarships and financial assistance to students based on their economic status or other criteria that may include financial need. Scholarships are categorized as merit-based or needs-based and may come from government or private sources.

Description: The Grants-in-Aid Program (GIAP) was created to reduce the cost paid by students during enrollment, based on the household's paying capacity to which a student belongs. Through the GIAP, UP may subsidize a portion of the full cost required during enrollment and, in some instances, grant additional subsidy to waive miscellaneous fees and grant monthly cash allowances. The UP GIAP is open to undergraduate students, including students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program.

Description: The Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant (SAGA) Program provides undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to work and earn on-campus while pursuing their studies in the University. Aside from the compensation, students under the SAGA Program are able to gain work experience that could help prepare them for employment, entrepreneurship, and community service after they leave the University.

Description: The Student loan or SLB is a financial support program designed to assist students in funding their education by covering tuition costs. It allows borrowers to continue their studies without immediate full payment, with repayment typically arranged in installments payable within the semester.
Service Name: Aruga at Kalinga, Alay ng Pamantasan (AKAP) Programs

Description: The Aruga at Kalinga, Alay ng Pamantasan (AKAP) is a scholarship program which initially aims to provide meals to UP Manila students belonging to low-income households and who experience food insecurity during the academic year. Throughout the initial implementation of the program, it branches to AKAP PLUS and AKAP (Student Uniform Inclusivity Trust) SUIT. The AKAP PLUS Program is complementary to AKAP Meal in which AKAP grantees will receive additional meal assistance in the form of a cash allowance. The AKAP SUIT is a one-time uniform and/or scrub suit allowance program designed to support UP Manila students by covering the cost of two sets of the required uniform and/or scrub suit for their degree or program. This project is a collaboration between the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Philippine General Hospital Dietary Department through the generous donation of private donors.
