evaluate the health status of populations and public health interventions using appropriate techniques and tools in various settings; - implement appropriate public health interventions to achieve health equity and to address priority health issues in various settings; - manage health care organizations, programs and services in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural settings; - apply research skills and evidence-based solutions in addressing public health issues; - exhibit leadership and practice good governance in public health; - demonstrate commitment in the promotion of national heritage and cultural competence in the practice of public health; - engage in lifelong learning for relevant public health practice; and - exhibit legal, professional, social and ethical standards of behavior in public health. ==== Admission Requirements ==== - Must fulfill the general admission requirements of the National Graduate Office for the Health Sciences - Graduate of a baccalaureate degree from any recognized institution of higher learning - At least one (1) year of work experience in a related field or its equivalent as decided upon by the MPH Committee - Approval of the applicant’s qualification for graduate work in public health by the MPH Committee == Admission criteria: == - GWA (50%): * 50 – 1.0-1.5 * 40 – 1.6-2.0 * 30 – 2.01- 3.0 * 0 – below 3.0 - Motivation/Interest (30%) based on essay * Substance (clear content) and Form (organization and grammar) * 30 – Excellent * 20 – Good * 0 – Poor - Recommendation (20%) * 20 - very strongly, 2 raters * 10 – very strongly, 1 rater/ strongly, 2 raters The score should be at least 70% to qualify for the program.\\ \\ ==== Graduation Requirements ==== -
