The continued growth of public health requires the training of individuals who will assume leadership roles in the field of public health. The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program is designed to meet this need. It is primarily oriented to prepare professionals who will occupy key positions in teaching, research, and administration in the health sciences. Graduates of the program are expected to make substantive contributions to new knowledge that is relevant to the needs of developing countries.\\

Program Objectives:
  - Demonstrate the use of scientific methods and tools of inquiry to study various health and related issues given the socio-economic, political, and cultural dynamics of a particular situation and utilize such findings
  -  Demonstrate the ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and document a research and development project
  - Demonstrate the ability to advocate desirable health policy development activities and effectively influence decision-making 
  - Demonstrate the ability to apply theories and strategies to behavioural and structure changes within one’s organization

==== Admission Requirements ====
  - MPH/MSPH degree or any equivalent preparation relevant to the field of concentration from a recognized institution of higher learning. Those with master’s degrees other than MPH/MSPH must have at least 2 years of experience in public health.
  - Excellent performance in the master’s program, with emphasis on courses in the field of specialization
  - Must have demonstrated evidence of competence in the area of specialization, through written examination or interview to be decided on and administered by the DrPH Program Committee 
==== Graduation Requirements ====
  - Depending on the field of specialization, completion of 33-34 units (13-14 units of core courses, 13-15 units of major courses, 6-7 units of electives/cognates) in at least two full academic years
  - An overall weighted average of 1.75 or better and weighted average of 1.75 or better in required courses in the field of specialization and no grade of 5.0
  - Passing the comprehensive examination
  - Oral and written presentation of original dissertation
  - Submission of six bound copies of dissertation
